2014 Groove Male Artiste of the Year, gospel music sensation Bahati
has denied reports that there is bad blood between him and fellow music
youngster Willy Paul.
Last week, a section of the media was awash with reports that the two are no longer seeing eye-to-eye, as their supremacy battle in the gospel music industry rages on. One particular article published by a showbiz pullout of a local daily on Friday, reported that upon his arrival from his two-month US tour, Willy Paul got word that he had been "dethroned" by Bahati as Kenya's favourite male gospel artiste, a thing that infuriated him.
On his side, Bahati refuted his knowledge of any "beef" between him and the artiste who won the same award last year.
"First of all, I don't speak on anything touching on Willy Paul. He is like a brother to me. In this ministry of spreading God's word, everybody has his/her own calling. God has blessed each and everyone of us with different but unique dreams and He wants every individual to accomplish whatever the task he/she was called for. So, I have no beef with no one. I have a lot of people to reach out for to waste my time beefing with anybody."
"Personally, I have a big dream of representing Kenya in the rest of the world. I want to be the voice of the African child and I will only attain such a fete if I remain focused," he adds.
However, our efforts to reach Willy Paul for a comment were futile.
